Repository Policy

Jurnal Riset Informatika (JRI) is dedicated to promoting the accessibility and dissemination of research through the responsible sharing of articles and data. In line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, JRI has established the following repository policy:

1. Author Rights and Article Versions

  • Preprints (Author’s Original Manuscript):

    • Authors are encouraged to share their original manuscript (preprint) on public repositories before or during the submission process to JRI. Authors should ensure that the repository clearly states that the manuscript is a preprint and has not undergone peer review.
    • When submitting to JRI, authors must inform the editorial team of any preprint versions and provide a link to the preprint.
  • Postprints (Accepted Manuscript):

    • Authors are permitted to deposit the accepted version of their manuscript (postprint) in institutional or subject-based repositories. The postprint should include a citation to the published version in JRI with a DOI link once available.
    • The postprint should be marked with a statement indicating that it has been accepted for publication in JRI and that the final version is available from the journal’s website.
  • Published Version:

    • The final, published version (Version of Record) can be shared in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other digital archives with proper attribution to JRI, including a link to the article’s DOI.

2. Data Sharing and Repositories

  • Data Availability:

    • Authors are encouraged to deposit the datasets underlying their research in open, public repositories that adhere to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles. A data availability statement should be included in the manuscript, providing details on how and where the data can be accessed.
  • Supplementary Materials:

    • Any supplementary materials related to the article, such as figures, tables, or additional data files, can be deposited in public repositories. Authors should provide a link to these materials in their manuscript.

3. Licensing and Attribution

  • Licensing:

    • Articles published in JRI are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, which permits non-commercial sharing, adaptation, and distribution of the work with proper attribution.
    • Authors should ensure that the repository where the article or data is deposited allows for non-commercial use and requires proper attribution to the original source.
  • Attribution:

    • When depositing any version of the article or associated data in a repository, authors must provide appropriate credit to JRI as the original publisher. This includes citing the journal name, article title, author names, and DOI.

4. Compliance with COPE and Ethical Standards

  • Ethical Considerations:

    • Authors must ensure that the deposition of articles and data in repositories complies with ethical standards, including respecting participant confidentiality, securing necessary permissions for data sharing, and adhering to any relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Misconduct and Retraction:

    • In cases where an article is retracted due to ethical misconduct, JRI will notify the repository where the article is deposited. The repository will be requested to update the status of the deposited item to reflect the retraction and link to the retraction notice.

5. Repository Selection

  • Recommended Repositories:
    • JRI recommends using reputable repositories such as institutional repositories, domain-specific repositories (e.g., arXiv, bio;Rxiv), or general-purpose repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare).
    • Authors should ensure that the chosen repository adheres to best practices for data management and long-term preservation.

By following this repository policy, JRI aims to support the broader dissemination and preservation of scholarly research while maintaining high ethical standards as outlined by COPE. This policy facilitates the responsible sharing of knowledge and ensures that research is accessible to the wider academic community and the public.
